Entenwick, also called Klopferle, is a kobold connected with the fate of the von Sachsenheim family, in whose castle he is said to have lived. He is said to be an angel cast out of heaven with a bird's voice; yet he had not sinned like the other fallen angels and hoped for mercy, so for more than a thousand years he hid in a blade of grass in the moor until he followed a servant to Sachsenheim. According to the Zimmern Chronicle he willingly did every task in the castle while unseen: the things he carried seemed to float through the air, and he repeated every prayer said to him except the plea to be kept from temptation and delivered from evil. He was terrible to behold; when Reinhard von Sachsenheim pressed to see him, the kobold showed an arm covered in spikes, its colour a mixture of blue, blood-red and yellow. When Reinhard, urged by his friends, had the ghastly but helpful spirit conjured away, it laid a curse on the Sachsenheim family that would mean its end. Shortly afterwards the whole castle burned down, and the old noble line died out within a few years. The original text of the chronicle that records this story adds that things Entenwick carried were seen floating through the air with no one visible carrying them, and that no one could ever grasp him. He declared that as long as he stayed at Sachsenhaim the family would not lose its honour and wealth. Soon afterwards Sachsenhaim castle burned to the ground, and everyone blamed Entenwick.
